Odds and Ends
This is my first attempt at creating a website. I used a program called Web Easy Pro, V5, to help. It was very easy to manipulate and for one who doesn’t have a clue about HTML, it was a blessing. Hope you enjoy the results.

Unless otherwise noted, all the pictures included in the site were taken by us using an Olympus C5050Z digital camera. I liked that it uses AA batteries. We brought 3 sets of rechargeable batteries and a 110/220 volt charger along, so I was never without fully charged batteries. This is an important point when using digital cameras. I had a variety of memory cards, the camera is able to use three different types, for a total of 576MB of capacity.

For storage of the many pictures we took during the trip, (almost 2900), I had brought along a digital wallet from Kanguru. It had a 20GB storage capacity, was small and convenient to use. Unfortunately, I forgot the proprietary USB cable at home and so was unsure if the pictures were indeed being saved, (they were, first thing I checked when we got home.) As a backup, I was able to find shops that would burn CDs for me from the memory cards.

We purchased about $300.00 worth of Euros through our local bank before we left. Once in Europe, we used our ATM cards for any further money needs. We did have a special checking account setup just for the trip and both Maria and I had ATM cards, each with a different pin number. Also, we had two additional charge cards for backup. One of the nice things about Euros, is if you have some left over, you can always use them on your next trip to Europe.

Traveling light as we were, didn’t leave much room for souvenirs. So Maria bought postcards and most evenings, would write of the days activities on the back of them. They will become the basis of a journal of the trip. I on the other hand, collected a full set of Euro coins and a full set of the coins they replaced from each of the countries we visited.

So….. here we are, at the last page of this scrapbook of sorts. Have I covered the fullness of our tour? My goodness, no. What have I left out? Well I could talk of the local guides who added so much to our enjoyment and knowledge of the particular cities they represented. I could go on and on about the wonderful meals we had, the new taste sensations we experienced. I could tell of the various places we stayed or maybe of the shower that was so small, that when I turned around in it, I turned off the water. Maybe pages relating to these can be added at a later date, please feel free to check back from time to time.
